Demolition - Wrestling Life Hall of Fame inductees

Wrestling Life Online is proud to announce that Bill ‘Demolition Ax’ Eadie and Barry ‘Demolition Smash’ Darsow will be the first inductees into the Wrestling Life Hall of Fame in 2026.

The powerhouse pairing of Demolition has gone down in professional wrestling’s history books as one of the most successful, beloved and iconic tag teams of all time.

Formed in the late 1980s, Demolition stormed onto the scene with an intimidating look, heavy rock-inspired entrance and an uncompromising in-ring style. Their impact was immediate: Ax and Smash went on to capture the WWF Tag Team Championship three times, including an incredible reign that lasted 478 days, a record that took more than two decades to be broken.

Demolition’s clashes with The Hart Foundation, The Brain Busters, The Powers of Pain, The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers, The British Bulldogs and many other tandems defined a golden era of tag team wrestling, with their devastating ‘Demolition Decapitation’ finish becoming one of the most feared moves in the business at the time.

Beyond their historic tag team run together, the Wrestling Life Hall of Fame induction for Eadie and Darsow also celebrates their long and successful individual grappling careers.

Before Demolition, Eadie achieved worldwide fame as The Masked Superstar, competing across territories and challenging some of wrestling’s biggest names, including Hulk Hogan, Bob Backlund and Dusty Rhodes.

Prior to becoming Smash, Barry Darsow made his name as Kruscher Kruschev in Jim Crockett Promotions, where he captured the NWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship. Years later in the WWF, Darsow reinvented himself as the fondly remembered Repo Man.

Together, Demolition’s Ax and Smash defined tag team dominance in professional wrestling and it is now time for the duo to receive their rightful place inside the Wrestling Life Hall of Fame.

Ben Veal, founder of Wrestling Life Online and host of the Wrestling Life interview series, commented:

“It gives me enormous pride to announce that Demolition’s Ax and Smash, Bill Eadie and Barry Darsow, will be the first inductees into the 2026 Wrestling Life Hall of Fame class. Demolition weren’t just champions: they were bonafide trailblazers who set the standard for what a tag team could achieve. Both men had remarkable singles careers as well that brought unforgettable characters and performances to fans around the world. Wrestling Life Online's mission is to honour the legends whose impact continues to inspire and shape the next generation of talent, and Demolition’s legacy absolutely deserves to be celebrated with a Hall of Fame induction.”

The Wrestling Life Hall of Fame was launched in 2025 to spotlight individuals whose contributions have positively helped to shape the wrestling industry.

2025’s six WL HOF inductees were The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith, Marc Mero, Candice Michelle, Mike Chioda, The Dynamite Kid Tom Billington and Marcus ‘Buff’ Bagwell. The 2026 class will continue this tradition of honouring names who left a lasting impression on wrestling’s past, present and future.

Special Wrestling Life Hall of Fame induction episodes will be shared on the @wrestlinglifeonline YouTube channel and on the ‘Wrestling Life with Ben Veal’ podcast in January and February 2026. More inductees will be revealed over the coming months.
